How StakeXDC works
StakeXDC pools XDC into masternodes on the XDC Network and gives you psXDC, a liquid token that represents your share of the pool. This page explains exactly what happens to your XDC, how rewards reach you, and what to expect when you withdraw.
What you hold: psXDC
When you stake, the vault (an ERC-4626 contract) mints psXDC to your wallet at the current share price: the ratio of everything the vault holds to the psXDC in circulation. The share price is 1.000000 XDC per psXDC right now, so staking 10,000 XDC gives you about 10,000.00 psXDC.
psXDC is an ordinary token. You can hold it, send it, or use it elsewhere in DeFi. Whoever holds it can redeem it for XDC at the share price of that moment.
How rewards arrive: a monthly step
The pooled XDC runs masternodes. The XDC Network pays those masternodes, and operations send the rewards into the vault roughly once a month. Each time that happens, the share price steps up for everyone at once; your psXDC balance does not change, its value does.
Between distributions the share price is flat. That is the cadence, not a missed payout. There is no claim button and nothing to compound manually. The target is about 5.5% APY; it is an estimate, not a guarantee, and it depends on masternode rewards and on the amount staked.
Every distribution is an on-chain event you can check on the Transparency page, with the exact XDC amount and the resulting percentage step.
Withdrawals and the queue
Redeeming burns your psXDC and pays XDC at the current share price. There are two paths, and the app tells you which one applies before you confirm anything in your wallet.
- Instant
If the vault holds enough liquid XDC, you are paid in the same transaction.
- Queued
Most of the pool is locked in masternodes, so large or clustered withdrawals cannot always be paid at once. Your psXDC is escrowed and your request joins a queue. Operations fund a backing budget from which requests are paid; a request is paid when the budget covers it, so smaller requests may settle before larger ones.
While queued you keep your claim on future distributions: the payout is recomputed at the share price when the request is processed, not when you asked. You can cancel any time before processing and your psXDC comes straight back.
We show your position in the queue, not a date. Nobody can promise when a queued request is paid; treat any published estimate as the team's best guess.
In a hurry? psXDC also trades against XDC on the Spot market, an immediate exit at the market price rather than the share price.
Fees
The vault can take a share of each distribution as a fee before the share price steps up. That fee is set on-chain (currently zero) and any change goes through the vault's governance delay. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees beyond XDC network gas.
Risks, plainly
- Smart contracts. The vault is audited and non-custodial, but any contract can have bugs. Do not stake more than you can afford to lose.
- Masternode performance. Rewards depend on the XDC Network. A masternode that misbehaves can be penalised, and the vault caps how much loss it will record per report and per day.
- Liquidity. Withdrawals may be queued for an extended period when the backing budget is thin. Your psXDC keeps earning while it waits, and you can cancel, but you cannot force a payout date.
- Operations. Distributions and queue funding are performed by the operations team under on-chain roles with time-locked changes. The Transparency page shows every action.
Beyond staking
- Trade. psXDC trades against XDC on a StakeXDC-owned Uniswap V2 pool with on-chain limit orders. The market can sit above or below the share price; the desk shows both. Open Trade
- Partner pools. Communities and institutions deploy their own branded pools on the same audited vault code; they run the masternodes, StakeXDC takes a protocol fee. Explore pools
- Referrals. Invite links bind on the referee's first stake; rewards are published as monthly Merkle epochs. Your referral link
- Bridge. psXDC moves to Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and HyperEVM over LayerZero V2; the share price keeps stepping while it is away. Bridge psXDC
